I figured this would be a fund thread. Just post what you had for dinner. Pics not required, but appreciated.

A local store was selling crawfish boil stuff so I got some. It was great. I love crawdads. The sausage was great.

I didnt get a pic but did a massive spaghetti with meatballs with meat sauce. I'm on a candied jalapeno kick and I over did it. Paying for it today, but they are amazing.

Cooking is not one of my strong points and I really suck badly at making pizzas

Practice makes perfect. Keep trying.

I did achiote chicken with Mexican rice and these weird bacon-wrapped jalapenos. I'm pretty sure they were coated in flaming hot Cheeto dust, but they were good.

Just had scrambled eggs and rotisserie chicken for breakfast..
We have a freeze drier so I FD all sorts of things and have them either stashed for the hard times or sitting on the shelf for quick nutritious meals..
Much better then the commercially FD food and without all the salt and mystery seasonings..
Tonight, meat lasagna with cheeses and wide noodles...prep time....10 minutes of simmering. My wife cooks up great stews and soups which I FD.
Spend a ounce of gold and secure your food supply for 25 years....

I've been looking for a freeze-dryer for the same reason. Can I ask what you have and where you got it? What you like and don't like about it?

I'm pretty thorough in my purchases and love first hand accounts of products in action.

love to give advice about things that are useful and really work......shorter discussion right now because I need to get things done today but here is a start...to be continued....
Brand is Harvest right. Bought ours at a farm supply store so they eat the freight.
I have a large size and a medium.
Follow directions and don't mess with them and they work well....at least in the multiple loads I have done.
We have done freezing, dehydrating, standard canning and pressure canning. FDing is much simpler and retains more nutrients than any other means. And your food won't spoil if the power goes out and stays out or your food supply freezes..
The processed food is light to move around...I put the foil packages in 27 gallon tubs and move those easily....try that with standard canning or commercial canned food.
Here is a face book group and some searching will bring up other sources.. There is some bad press about harvest right but what else is new . I have had almost zero problems with mine.
