For those who sell gold online.
  1. Where exactly did you sell it?
  2. What was the process like?
  3. How did you handle funds and shipping (did you ship before getting funds, escrow, etc.)

1. Usually sell on Facebook.
2. Get message from buyer, sometimes some negotiation with price sometimes not. Pretty smooth experience.
3. If posting I Always get buyer to pay into my bank account (no payID or PayPal) I wait until funds have cleared, transfer to my other account before posting. Always post by fastest shipping method, with identification on delivery of addressee with signature. I also insure parcel as "collector rocks" to the amount of gold I've sold. Australia post don't cover insurance on gold or mcau etc. Usually only sell small amounts 8g at a time to lower postal suspicion on valuable items and always send it a sealed dirtbag sleeve. Sometimes buyer will just pickup at local place of my choosing (some place with proper working cctv cameras) cash first, count it, put in pocket then i give gold.

We used to sell on Ebay and some people paid ridiculous prices. Now the Ebay fees have become unreasonable and once Covid hit the proof of delivery went out the window so that option is no longer viable. We only sell to the Perth Mint Refinery and feel we get a fair deal with less stress.

Wow! That is great you have built a reputation that people will send money upfront.
